A distance on a TDR is only useful if someone can follow the cable in the ground. We trace and mark buried LV and HV routes with CAT and Genny before a repair, an excavation or planned works.
What the work can include
- LV and HV route tracing with CAT and Genny
- Marks on the ground for the team who will dig
- Depth indication where the signal and the ground conditions allow it
- A route where the drawing is missing or does not match the site
- A check of the route before excavation
What we need from you
The postcode, the voltage, why the route is needed, and anything already known, including drawings. Photos of both terminations help us put the transmitter on the right cable.
If tracing finds damage
A marked route can be used for the excavation, or as the start of a fault investigation. If the cable is damaged, repair can be carried out by R&D Cable Jointing’s own jointers once it is safe to joint.
