Not every struck or disturbed cable has gone open circuit. We test to see which circuit is affected, whether it is still sound, and whether it needs a joint or a fuller fault location.
What the work can include
- Investigation after a suspected cable strike
- Visual and electrical checks
- Insulation resistance and continuity tests where they are appropriate
- TDR, where a position would change the decision
- A repair by our own jointers if the damage is confirmed and the cable is safe to joint
What we need from you
What happened, the voltage, the postcode, any permit or drawing reference, and whether the cable has been isolated. A photo of the excavation is often the most useful single thing you can send.
Repair
