Kent is home. We test and pre-locate LV and 11kV faults on buried cable across the county, then repair them with R&D Cable Jointing’s own team.

UK Power Networks (South Eastern Power Networks) covers Kent, from the Thames and Medway to the coast and the High Weald. The cables we are asked to find faults on include estate mains, SWA and other armoured feeds, street lighting, and 11kV circuits on commercial and private sites.
Because we are based in the county, Kent is where a straightforward LV fault or a route trace is the simplest journey. Medway and Maidstone each have their own page. The rest of the county — coastal towns, rural underground runs and the commuter estates — is covered from this one.
High-resistance and intermittent faults can still need a surge generator and acoustic pinpointer. We own the TDR, CAT and Genny, Megger 5kV tester and Kewtech multifunction tester. The thumper and pinpointer are hired for the job when they are needed and agreed.
Phones answered Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm. Out-of-hours by arrangement. Send the postcode and what has tripped and we will say what the next step is.
The usual Kent job is an LV or 11kV fault on a buried cable, followed by a joint if the position is confirmed and the cable is safe to work on.
Send the voltage, the postcode and what you know so far. We’ll call you back during phone hours.
