Underground cable fault location in Essex

Phones answered Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm. Out-of-hours by arrangement.

On the ground in Essex

UK Power Networks (Eastern Power Networks) covers Essex, from the Thames estuary towns to the rural north and east of the county. The public network and a private cable on a site are not the same job. Tell us which cable has failed, the voltage, and who can isolate it.

The journey from Kent is usually across the Dartford Crossing and the north Thames corridor. We agree that trip against the fault before we set off. Phones answered Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm. Out-of-hours by arrangement.

On site the first-line kit is our own: Lexxi T1660 TDR, Megger 5kV insulation tester, Kewtech multifunction tester, and CAT and Genny for the route. A surge generator is hired only if the fault will not show on a low-voltage test.

Travel from Kent

Essex sits across the Thames from Kent. Send the postcode with the enquiry so we can judge the journey and the access before agreeing to attend.

What we can do in Essex

LV armoured cable, mains cable and 11kV feeders are the faults we are set up to test. The joint, if it is needed, is done by our own team.
