UK Power Networks (South Eastern Power Networks) covers East Sussex, including the coastal towns and the High Weald. Hastings, Eastbourne, Lewes and the rural parishes inland are the geography of that network. We still need the site postcode: naming the county is not enough to plan the test.
Travel from Kent is a neighbouring-county journey, shorter than a trip north of London, and it is agreed per job. Phones answered Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm. Out-of-hours by arrangement.
Street lighting, SWA feeds to commercial sites and 11kV site cables are typical of the work. Once the position is known and the cable is isolated, the repair is carried out by R&D Cable Jointing’s own jointing team.
East Sussex is one of the shorter trips outside Kent. Send the voltage and what the protection did, and we will say whether a TDR visit is the right first step.
We test the cable that has failed, trace the route if it is not on a drawing, and repair it ourselves when the excavation can be made safely.
Send the voltage, the postcode and what you know so far. We’ll call you back during phone hours.
