LV Cable Fault Location
TDR-based investigation of open circuits, short circuits, low-resistance earth faults and other cable problems.
View service →LV and HV cable fault investigation, TDR pre-location, route tracing, cable identification and repair coordination in Oxford, with specialist HV fault-location equipment arranged where the fault requires it.
Oxford is outside our core South East area, with attendance assessed by scope. We confirm attendance only after reviewing the voltage, cable type, approximate circuit length, protection operation, test results and access arrangements.
We assess 33kV fault-location work individually. Difficult faults may require larger specialist surge/ARM/pinpoint equipment, which is sourced to suit the job rather than advertised as permanently available everywhere.

View service →Initial investigation and pre-location, with surge/ARM/acoustic methods arranged when the fault behaviour requires them.
View service →Trace and mark buried cable routes to support fault pinpointing, excavation or planned works.
View service →Suitable LV, 11kV and 33kV cable repairs can be coordinated through R&D Cable Jointing once the fault position is established.
View service →The more we know before travelling, the more likely we are to bring the correct equipment and avoid a wasted visit.
Send us the site postcode, voltage and what has happened. We will confirm availability and the sensible next step.
